Primarily designed for school or literacy specialist use, Oz Phonics 5 is the first app in the advanced spelling patterns part of the Oz Phonics system.
This app covers the /long A/, /long E/, and /long I/ sounds and their many spellings. Multiple vowel sound spellings make the English language tricky to both read and spell for students with poor phonics knowledge. This app shows the student multiple spellings, then reinforces each main spelling with a set of exercises restricted to one spelling pattern at a time. Alternative spellings (like the ‘e’ making the /long a/ sound in the word cafe) are also covered along with homophones (“made’, ‘maid’, ‘eight’, ‘ate’).
The app should prove invaluable to primary schools aiming to teach their students the full English phonics code.

There are 78 demo/exercise screens within this app. Free worksheets are also available on our website ozphonics.com

Note: before using this app, students should have a good working knowledge of the “basic phonics code” developed in our Intro,1, 2, 3, and 4 apps. Alternatively, students should have completed a basic phonics code component of an another phonics system covering short vowels, consonants and their common (not all) spellings.
